Alphabet Bet Calculator - FAQ
An Alphabet bet is so-called because it consists of 26 separate bets, the same as the number of letters in the alphabet. The bet consists of 6 selections, and you then place a patent from the first three selections (7 bets) and a patent from the last three (7 bets). A Yankee from selections two to five (11 bets) and a Six-Fold with all six selections. It is most commonly used on horse and greyhound racing.
When you place an Alphabet bet, you make 6 selections. Because the first and sixth selections aren’t included in the Yankee portion of the bet, they’ll yield smaller returns than selections 2 to 5. Therefore, choosing the selections with the highest chance of winning in positions 2 to 5 of your bet is sensible.
